Currently im using purigen in a reactor and phosguard/matrix carbon in a diy canister style reactor like this: I guess if water passes through media it shud work. Also, consider using Purigen as chemical media. I trust eheim 2250/2260 canister as its huge and i wont require cleaning weekly. I personally like it because I dont have to fill the filter baskets to the brim and this means improved flow.

Features the exact same diameter and length provided with the initial purchase of the filter. Stuff like Sera Siporax is reputedly better in terms of bio capacity/volume but it is generally considered that most externals have more capacity for bio filtration than would ever be necessary. This is the Eheim Outlet Jet Pipe for the classic 1500XL (2260 model). I would say something like Ehfi mech pro and a layer of sponge for the mechanical, then whatever bio media you choose. What is then the best way to connect the tubes to the PVC. I'm going to use the tubes that came with the filter and put both into 2-way tap connectors.

(perhaps due to the technology involved microchip) There is a difference between this 2262 and the 2260, the 2262 has an upgraded pump of an out put of 900 gallons per hour, no media included. As far as media for the new filter goes, the world is your Oyster. Hi, The standard fittings for my eheim 2260 do not fit too well on my tank so i'm thinking of DIYing a new PVC Intake and Spray Bar Outflow. It seems to me that the f圆 had more equipment malfunction than the eheim 2262. The lower your bioload the quicker you can do this. I would run them both for a month, then take increasing amounts of the media out of the Juwel over the next month. I can understand why you said that but I can appreciate why he wants to run them both. Not necessarily that practical since a Juwel internal filter works mainly with square sponges which dont really relate well to using in the new filter.
